The CR106 is controlled by our free Connect app that is available for both Apple and Android devices, through a web interface, or by the intuitive front-panel knobs and buttons. Regardless of how you control the CR106, no complicated programming is required, so your system can be up and running quickly.

You can also create and customize Experiences using the Connect app or web interface. When you set up an Experience, the current input selection and volume levels for each zone are captured and saved.
These saved Experiences can be easily reapplied or activated anytime, offering quick and seamless audio control.
Source components, such as CD players, music streamers, and tuners, can be connected via the 4 unbalanced analog inputs or the 4 digital inputs. For larger systems, up to five CR106 units can be linked together via Dante® network interface, creating up to 30 distinct two-channel audio zones. Adopted by hundreds of manufacturers in thousands of products, Dante replaces audio connections in larger multi-room systems with a computer network, effortlessly sending audio over your network to multiple locations.
You can also stream directly to the CR106 via Bluetooth, effectively turning your phone or tablet into a music source. The CR106 utilizes the high bitrate Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) standard; Qualcomm® aptX™ HD for hi res audio playback; and Qualcomm aptX Adaptive, a robust solution that delivers high resolution, uninterrupted audio over Bluetooth.
In addition to streaming, the DS200 features 8 digital audio inputs to connect audio components with digital audio outputs, such as a CD player or tuner. It supports high resolution digital audio playback, as its USB input supports native playback of up to DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz, while the coax and optical inputs can decode digital music up to 24-bit/192kHz. With its HDMI (ARC) input, the DS200 is perfect for watching your favorite TV shows and movies with audio quality that TV speakers or soundbars just can't provide.2 Popular multi-channel audio formats from Dolby and DTS will be expertly converted to two-channel audio for proper playback.
The DS200 has a pair of balanced and unbalanced analog outputs to connect it to your preamplifier or integrated amplifier. We offer both balanced cables and unbalanced cables to make these connections. It comes from the factory in fixed output mode, meaning the volume would be controlled by your preamplifier, integrated amplifier, or other component with volume control, but it does offer the option of setting its output to variable mode. Variable output mode allows the DS200 to be connected directly to a power amplifier in an audio system that only has digital audio sources, and the DS200 would control the volume.
The DS200 is compatible with Qobuz Connect, Spotify® Connect (including Spotify Lossless), and TIDAL® Connect (including TIDAL Max), which let you stream your music seamlessly from the cloud straight to your devices. If you use any of these music streaming services you can continue to use those apps on your phone or tablet and have the music streamed directly to the DS200. Your device then effectively becomes a remote control to adjust volume, song selection, and other playback features.

Additional streaming options included are Apple® AirPlay®, Bluetooth®, and Google Cast™ that allows for streaming directly from a smart device to the DS200. All of these wireless connection options makes it easy for guests to stream their favorite playlists to the DS200 during family events or parties.
The DS200 Streaming DAC is designed with timeless McIntosh aesthetics and high-quality materials, such as a black glass front faceplate, rotary control knobs, illuminated logo, and custom machined aluminum end caps. A Data IN port along with Power Control ports allow for seamless integration with other McIntosh components, while the RS232 Control port can be used in more advanced installations. A remote control is included.
