Our Story
AVIR has been a part of the Coachella Valley community for the last 33 years. We are a factory authorized and trained designer and installer of the finest audio, home theater, lighting control, motorized shading, network, and home automation equipment in Southern California.
AVIR builds relationships by designing smart systems that are easy to use, implementing them with the industries best trained and most committed staff, and supporting them with “white glove” service to assure value and enjoyment for years to come. By maintaining strong relationships with leading designers, architects, and builders, we have consistently proven our ability to engineer and install a wide range of systems for different needs and budgets.
Gordon Spielberg founded AVIR in 1989 with a passion for high performance audio video systems and their control. Shortly thereafter, he joined forces with Mike Oster who has been in the industry for more than 30 years. Mike has an extensive audio video and construction background, and together they have grown the company into the largest design build firm in the Coachella Valley.

After the consultation, our engineering team provides a draft that details the plan moving forward, along with a near-exact price estimation. Once the environments and technology are seamlessly integrated into the home, we provide training for homeowners and staff. Finally, you become a partner with AVIR, giving you access to things like our Welcome + Turndown service and our Hibernation service. Additionally, you receive on-demand product maintenance and call-out services.
For Commercial Projects
AVIR provides the simplest interfaces and the best products. We offer consultation and drafting with near-exact price estimates for our commercial projects and builders. This provides project clarity and allows for accurate budget projections on the client-facing side. Our installation is fast and easily integrated with new builds, ensuring project deadlines are met in a timely manner. Additionally, we provide interface training for all direct users, perfect for hospitals and places of worship that utilize a volunteer force. Finally, we provide long-term service for every AVIR installation, including call-outs and routine maintenance needs.
